Bio
Rose McCarthy graduated from Simmons College in Boston in 2014 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, having previously received a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the same school. She began working towards her longterm goals of a career in education during her time at Simmons, as a teaching assistant and tutor for first-year DPT students in lab and coursework for advanced human anatomy. In 2017 she began Fellowship training through the Bellin College Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship program, and is currently a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists . She is also a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. She worked in private practice for five years before joining the outpatient staff at Kaiser Permanente Park Shadelands as a senior physical therapist in 2019, at which time she also joined the faculty of the Kaiser Permanente Northern California orthopaedic programs. She has a particular interest in clinical reasoning processes, chronic pain, and upper cervical conditions including headache and TMJ dysfunction, and is passionate about teaching and learning. Outside of the physical therapy world she is an avid hip-hop dance student who loves spending her free time with her friends, family, and two children.
