Can new DPT graduates enroll in Fellowship programs?
No, our Fellowship programs are designed for practicing clinicians with at least 2 years of experience. New DPT graduates are encouraged to apply for our orthopaedic residency program.
Are out of state applicants considered?
No, our OMPT Fellowship program is currently only open to Kaiser Permanente employees working in selected service areas. Service areas change annually depending on where we can support fellowship mentoring.
When is the application deadline?
The application deadline is late May.
When does the program begin?
The Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program is a 15 month (60 weeks) program and begins in September of each year.
What is the application fee?
There is no application fee.
How many fellows-in-training are accepted?

We may accept up to four (4) fellows-in-training into the program for 2023/2024.
Vallejo Fellowship in OMPT & Musculoskeletal Primary Care

Are fellows-in-training considered Kaiser employees and eligible for benefits?
Fellows-in-training who are existing Kaiser Permanente employees enjoy benefits that include health, dental and vision coverage, and paid holidays through KP. Fellows-in-training employed by one of our partnering clinics are not considered Kaiser Permanente employees and do not receive KP benefits.
Is housing provided?
No, housing is not provided.
What qualities are considered in the candidates?
We value individuals who are reflective and introspective and those who show a commitment to their professional and personal development. We value personal and professional humility and a desire to partner with colleagues and patients in professional growth.
Is board certification or completion of a residency required?
No. We do however, require at least 2 years of clinical experience and a clear demonstration of an extensive background and interest in orthopaedic practice. This background should be evident from a review of completed continuing education, professional association membership and conference attendance.
