Bio
Matthew Downey is a senior physical therapist in the outpatient department at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an option in Exercise Science in 2014 and his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2017 both from California State University, Long Beach. He completed the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Orthopedic Residency in 2018 and completed the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program in 2023. Matt is also active in physical therapy professional associations having served in elected positions and appointed positions in various capacities at local, state, and national levels. Outside of the clinic, Matt can be found in the gym or watching the Lakers. Matt is an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor (ACCI) Level I.
